Description:
Vitae Drum Circle is a regular drumming group open to all. A vibrant ensemble that will wow you with their drumming and dancing. Great for celebrations, shows, and events where high energy entertainment is required.
The Vitae Drum Circle performs regularly combining African dance with experienced drummers, which has made the group a popular act at local events such as the Wycombe Winter Drum Festival and the Chiltern Show.
Justine Hart, the leader of the group offers quality teaching in West African drumming as well as dance and song. Two weekly classes are held - but check with Justine before coming. Times are staggered so beginners play first and then intermediates arrive and join them. Later the beginners leave so the intermediates and experienced players can pace up.
We play drum rhythms from Senegal, Gambia and Guinea that Justine has learned from Mamadi Keita. The players range in ability from beginners to advanced intermediates. Our recent public appearances were warmly received, and we look forward to our future events.
Justine also conducts professional and private workshops and team building events.
Justine is also one half of Folk Duo - Crooked Sixpence - and is a performer, singer/songwriter & guitarist working with folk style music.
