We are an exciting and vibrant dance company providing professional cutting edge hip-hop/street dance classes, workshops, master classes, choreography for pop videos and stage shows and, if that was not enough, we also provide fantastic dancers and workshop leaders! Established in 1999, Urban Strides prides itself on its motivational and dynamic approach. Our aim is to provide inspirational teaching methods to an exceptionally high standard alongside the most innovative, fresh and original choreography. Whatever your need, Urban Strides' flexibility and ability to think out 'of the box' will ensure you will never be disappointed.

Hip-Hop/Street dance classes: You have heard all about them now get the chance to experience it for yourself! Learn the phatest and freshest moves in a fantastic atmosphere where you get to learn, laugh and get funky!

Master Classes: Whether it's an intimate affair with technically gifted dancers in Beverly Hills or a dance convention for Nike in front of over 1,000 dancers, our reputation nationally and internationally speaks for itself.

Choreography: Whatever your creative need we have a creative solution, from a Music Video, to concerts at Wembley and everything else in between.

Dance Crew: Urban Strides only uses the best dancers, all of whom have undertaken professional training. We use dancers who are not only technically exceptional but are very nice people too! We consider professional etiquette and team work essential qualities.

FOUNDER - Andy Instone
His sheer passion and commitment is what has made Urban Strides such a success. Andy believes that for a person to achieve their full potential they must commit emotionally, physically and mentally. Originally self taught, Andy has since studied professional dance in all mainstream forms, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Tap, and has travelled around the globe to learn from the best in original hip hop styles and skills. It was the passion instilled in him for movement and expression that later led him to his professional training and it is this ethos that underpins what Urban Strides stands for. "Dancing is the most primeval of all instincts and to inspire confidence and increase opportunities for expression is vital" says Andy, who also believes so much in his community work, "Urban Strides has given me the opportunity to bring dance to so many people who have never had the chance"

It is also Andy's strong sense of discipline and impeccable work ethic that motivates those around him. Whether they are absolute beginners or hardened professionals, his high standards are what obtain results. It is this philosophy that lies at the heart of Urban Strides - Excellence through Endeavour.

Royal Variety Performance 2005
Urban Strides co-choreographed the opening act of the 2005 show, which included Urban Strides dancers and was performed at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff on 21st Nov 2005. The RVP has been a yearly fundraising event that showcases the day's leading musicians, performing artists and entertainers. The 2005 RVP was no different, with headline acts including Will Young, Charlotte Church and McFly, comedian Joe Pasquale, and all time greats Cliff Richard and Dame Shirley Bassey. Urban Strides is proud to have been involved with the co-choreography and performance of this year's opening, featuring breathtaking break dancing and the gravity-defying parkour freestylers.
