We were incorporated in 2005 to provide an exciting new Inclusive Theatre Company for the active creative participation of children, young people and adults in The Chilterns and South Buckinghamshire, regardless of health, social development or ethnic diversity.

The theatre company began in September 2005 as an outreach project of The Chicken Shed Theatre Company based in Southgate, London, and was financed through Chesham Park Community College’s Performing Arts status.

Shed@ThePark has adapted Chicken shed’s ethos and continues to develop a creative process, which can include all its members with equal value. Commitment to the individual, encouragement and acknowledgement of their contribution, are central tenets of our inclusive approach, which ensures the active creative participation of those who would usually be at risk of exclusion through factors of health, social development, or ethnic diversity. By instilling a sense of responsibility in our members, for both each other and for the Company as a whole, individuals develop a keen sense of citizenship alongside their artistic achievements.

We were formed with the intention of becoming self-financing on a sustainable basis, by seeking financial support and sponsorship as a registered charity, which status we attained in June 2006.
