Description:

We have 800 students and just fewer than 100 staff. Over 60% of Year 11 stay on for Sixth Form. We have a truly innovative curriculum with three different learning pathways at Key Stage 4 and selected subject choice as early as Year 9. We are a student-centred community with learning and progression central to what we do. Everything is geared towards enabling everyone to fulfil their potential. We value our partnerships with all our stakeholders and readily consult with them on all matters related to the school.

We gained specialist arts college status at our first attempt in 2006. We have outstanding facilities for Art, Drama and Music. A new £1.4 million sports hall opened in June 2006. Excellent ICT facilities include a ratio of 1 PC to every 3 students. Each classroom has an overhead projector and all teachers have laptops. Two thirds of classrooms have interactive whiteboards. All will have one by September 2008.

 

The school hosts The Beaconsfield Art Fair twice a year (in spring and autumn). The fair has been run by the PTFA for over 25 years and is an excellent showcase for local and nationally acclaimed artists. We continually welcome new artists who wish to be included in our exhibitions. The fair is also an opportunity for students at this specialist arts college to exhibit their talent.
